30 Years of Experience!

About Kim's K-9

1987 to 2021

Kim’s K-9 was originally started in 1987 out of the home of Kim Steffes. After celebrating an incredible 25 years at our Broadmoor location, Kim sold the business to her devoted head trainer, Martha Wiltse. Martha has proudly and confidently stepped into the role of ownership and continues the legacy. In her education, Martha worked at zoos, doggy daycares, group training classes, and finally landed at Kim’s K-9 in 2014. She started working and mentoring under Kim Steffes at that time, fell in love with her training and her company, and has only improved from there! After a year of mentoring/shadowing, she began taking on her own clients under Kim’s K-9 and quickly become Kim’s right-hand-lady managing the training side of the business. Martha was head trainer and manager at Kim’s for six years. In 2021, Martha purchased the business from Kim herself from whence Kim moved on to mostly-retirement, and Martha stepped up to become full time owner and trainer.

It is her pleasure and honor to own and run Kim’s K-9, alongside her amazing staff, leadership and training team. It is even more of a pleasure to continue on Kim’s reputation for being a family-owned business with her own husband, Justin, three sons, Anthony, Benny and the newest addition Patrick, and two dogs, Solomon and Jonesy. Kim’s K-9 is home to Martha and her family, and she is happy to provide and share that home with you and your furry family members as well!

The facility offers a safe and clean environment with multiple indoor and outdoor play areas, as well as flexible hours and a convenient location, just off of Broadmoor Ave. SE, near 28th St.

Kim’s K-9 staff members are fully trained to take the best possible care of your dog.  They adore interacting with the dogs as they run, jump, and play with friends. Dogs are sure to have a great time and return home tired from all the activity.

Clients love the quality services provided at a reasonable price. There are no hidden costs, such as a "play fee" or "TLC package." The staff will play with and love your dogs all day long! Owners can also supply their own dog food or simple medications at no charge.
